Charlie Daniels Band Plays at Pat Summitt Fundraiser

What a great time on the mountain! As part of the two-day benefit event in honor of former UT women's basketball coach Pat Summitt, Jasper Highlands' Developer John Thornton hosted elected officials, business leaders, and local professionals on top of Jasper Mountain to raise funds for the Pat Summitt Foundation, an organization with the objective of finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Attendees enjoyed live music, dinner & entertainment, as well as the magnificent long range views from Pat's Summitt that Jasper Highlands is known for. Former UT coach and honorary chairperson Phillip Fulmer and several other guests shared kind words and memories of Pat Summitt throughout the evening. The event was made even more memorable by a beautiful Tennessee sunset and a spectacular performance by The Charlie Daniels Band!

It was just four years ago that Pat Summitt herself, along with Coach Fulmer, joined "Thunder" Thornton and Jasper Highlands President Dane Bradshaw to dedicate this 9 acre park (called Pat's Summitt) to the legendary Hall of Fame basketball coach. Since then, the Jasper Highlands community has experienced phenomenal growth with over 300 properties sold. To date, Jasper Highlands has property owners and residents from 32 states in addition to Australia.

The fundraising efforts will continue on May 9 at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club for the Pat Summitt Golf Invitational.
