Southeast Tennessee is a great part of the United States. For folks in other parts of the country, the objective ofthis post is to provide information as to what a great place southeast Tennessee really is! On a recent drive around thearea, I snapped a few photographs that help reinforce why this part of the country is so appealing.

A brief summary:

• Unmatched natural beauty. The eastern side of Jasper Highlands, located on the Cumberland Plateau, looks out overthe confluence of the Sequatchie Valley and the Tennessee River Valley.
• Some of the best fishing-boating opportunities in the Southeast. The photograph is of Hale Town Marina on LakeNickajack, just 10 minutes from Jasper Highlands. Lake Guntersville is just across the Alabama state line south ofJasper Highlands. There are several other large Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) lakes within an hour.
• Medical care. The photograph is of Parkridge West Hospital (formerly Grandview Medical Center) - only 8 minutes fromJasper Highlands! Offices for medical specialists are even closer, in Jasper and Kimball.
• Our neighbor Chattanooga is a thriving city, recently recognized as America's greatest mid-sized city. Malls,theatres, great dining, annual festivals, attractions, more major medical facilities. Learn more: http://www.chattanoogafun.com/
• Centrally located. Nashville, Birmingham, Atlanta, Knoxville....all within two hours.
• The natural effect of convenient country living. Mild 4-season climate made even more appealing by the elevation ofthe Cumberland Plateau (cooler in summer - typically not enough snow to worry about). Live outdoors the majority of theyear. Enjoy hiking and outdoor activities year round!
• Cost of living. No state income tax, among the lowest utility rates in the USA. Property taxes about $1600 annuallyon a $300,000 land/home appraisal.
