City Water Is On The Way To Jasper Highlands

March has brought exciting news to Jasper Highlands! Right on schedule Wednesday morning the 12th, a convoy of flat-bed trucks have delivered the pipes for the installation of city water to Jasper Highlands. Also on schedule, under the oversight of the local highway commissioner, the paving of the new road from Highway 72 (Main Street in Kimball..... to Jasper Highlands) will begin soon.

The paving project will be completed by early June. According to recent guests, this new road is "the most picturesque one-mile stretch of road in all of Tennessee"! Underground electric lines have been run. Jasper Highlands will soon have fiber-optic cable. Custom homes are being built, and the first spec home (with a great view) will be under construction soon. We have new properties with magnificent unobstructed views of mountains, Lake Nickajack, large and small waterfalls, and the Tennessee River Valley. Considering all these factors, it is easy to see why we are excited!

Facts and figures about the city water...

  • Over 10,000' of 8" ductile iron pipe will bring water up the rugged escarpment of the Cumberland Plateau to Jasper Highlands
  • In Phase 1A alone, approximately two and a half miles of 8", 6", and 2" PVC pipe will deliver water to every home site in Jasper Highlands.
  • Trenching for the water pipes begins Monday. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of May.
  • The supplier is the City of South Pittsburg. They treat around 2,000,000 gallons of water daily, with the capacity to treat 10,000,000 gallons daily.
