JH October 2012 News
We have been enjoying splendid October weather in southeast Tennessee, spaced between two really good rain events over the last ten days. As a result, Raulston Falls (on the West Brow of Jasper Highlands) and Kimball Falls (on the East Brow of Jasper Highlands) have been making a lot of noise!
The normal day/night temperatures for this time of year on Jasper Highlands (not the city of Jasper) is 66/47. The brilliant blue skies, low humidity, and colorful fall foliage southeast Tennessee is known for in October has been on full display the last couple of days and this trend is forecast to continue through the end of the month.
As the photos reflect, construction is in ongoing at Jasper Highlands. The red clay/ limestone base has been completed on the majority of roads in Jasper Highlands, while a couple of cul-de-sacs are still under construction, to be completed over the next few days. Soon all roads within the properties will have the final coating of asphalt. One thing for sure, as shown in the photographs in this post, the access road to Jasper Highlands has a view that is second to none!
Jasper Highlands has been a very busy place the last three weeks. We have received visitors from all over the USA and provided property tours to guests from Florida, Texas, Illinois, California, Maryland, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and North Carolina. Finally, in my estimation, the autumn leaves (we seem to be a bit past peak) so far this year have not been quite as brilliant as the last couple of years. One of the reasons is the peak coloration of some tree species did not quite coincide. The golden color of the hickories and the red/burgundy of the blackgums, sweetgums and sourgums pre-dated the peak coloration of the maples. Beautiful nonetheless!
